Everyone seems to be aware these days of the importance of taking vitamins and minerals. But how do you know which ones to take, and how much? Here at MMP Health, we have implemented a test that looks at the vitamin and mineral patterns in your body, so that you can see exactly which vitamins and minerals you need for your specific biochemistry.
READ MORE ABOUT THIS:
Some people suffer from, for example, fatigue and migraine headaches. These symptoms can be caused by excess copper, or low potassium. Zinc may also be a factor. A simple lab test would help determine what minerals need to be balanced to help support the body in correcting these dysfunctions.
What is the lab test?
What we do is take a small sample of hair and send it off to be analyzed. When the results come back, we interpret the results to see what metabolic patterns in your particular biochemistry need to be addressed.
Why hair?
The cells that lie deep inside individual strands of hair are a perfectly preserved record of metabolic processes that have been going on for about the past three months. When we analyze the contents of these cells, we are able to determine what the cells had enough of nutrient-wise, or what they were lacking, or if toxicities were present. This is a highly accurate record of how your biochemistry is doing in the rest of your body.
Here’s an example: If your hair sample revealed that you were deficient in potassium, this would indicate that the rest of your body is also deficient. This, along with other results on the test, could tell us if, because of low potassium, there might a thyroid or adrenal gland issue.
So what all does this test for?
(Please note, this is just a sampling of all of the things hair analysis can test for.)
